More Drug Charges Filed by Strike Force Yarloop

A man will face court charged with ongoing prohibited drug supply and other offences in the state's north west slopes region.

In July 2025, detectives attached to Oxley Police District and the Rural Crime Prevention Team commenced investigations under Strike Force Yarloop to investigate property and rural thefts in the Gunnedah and surrounding areas.

About 10am on Thursday 15 January 2026, police executed a search warrant at a home on High Street, Tambar Springs. During the search, police allegedly located and seized an amount of methylamphetamine, cannabis and cannabis seed, mobile phones, and a power tool and battery charger suspected of being linked to break and enter offences in the Gunnedah area.

During a search of sheds and a caravan onsite, police also allegedly located and seized power tools suspected of being linked to break and enter offences in the Gunnedah area, valued at approximately $30,000, along with two Honda dirtbikes valued in excess of around $17,000.

Following ongoing investigations, about 10am yesterday (Thursday 5 February 2026), police executed a search warrant at a home on High Street, Tambar Springs, where they arrested a 36-year-old man. During the search, police also allegedly located and seized drugs and property believed to be stolen.

The man was taken to Gunnedah Police Station where he was charged with:

·Two counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis,

·Receive property-theft=serious indictable offence greater than $5000,

·Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (motor vehicle), and

·Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle).

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 5 today (Friday 6 February 2026).

The charges follow two previous arrests by police under Strike Force Yarloop on Thursday 4 December 2025 at a home on Schwager Street, Gunnedah, with a 44-year-old woman charged with 40 counts of drug-related offences, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and dishonestly obtain property by deception. A 41-year-old man was also arrested and charged with possess prohibited drug, two counts of larceny, break and enter house etc steal, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

Strike Force Yarloop investigations remain ongoing.
