More effective outside: Bernardi

Australian Conservatives Release

Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says he's over party politics but will not rejoin the Liberal Party so that he can make them be a better version of themselves.

Last weekend's federal election Coalition win was a victory for common sense, under the reinvigorated leadership of Scott Morrison.

The Prime Minister is, by all accounts, far more traditionally conservative than his predecessor, the most "miserable ghost" of all, Malcolm Turnbull.

Senator Bernardi told Paul Murray Live on Sky News he left the Liberal Party because under Turnbull Labor-lite leadership it had seriously lost its way - but says he won't rejoin it because there are still aberrations, weakened forces of the Left, which could still derail it.
