More Homes And Thousands Of Jobs In South-East

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government is unlocking 6,800 local jobs and 600 new homes in Melbourne's south-east.

Plans for the Croskell Employment Precinct near Cranbourne have been approved - creating a new hub for jobs and homes.

It means more people will be able to live and work close to home.

The precinct is expected to deliver jobs in manufacturing, logistics, clean-tech, recycling, retail and commercial sectors.

The new precinct will also deliver two sports reserves, five parks and 15 hectares of open space for the community.

Around 1,800 Victorians are expected to call the new community home.

Croskell will connect the growing communities of Cranbourne East and Clyde North.

New signalised intersections on Thompsons Road as well as the extension of Casey Fields Boulevard, and new walking and cycling paths will be delivered.

It's about planning ahead for Melbourne's growing suburbs with more homes, more jobs and better connections between communities.

Croskell follows the gazettal of the Officer South Precinct Structure Plan, with planning also underway for Devon Meadows and Casey Fields.

Together these precincts will unlock tens of thousands of jobs and homes across Melbourne's south-east.

It's part of our 10-year plan to unlock industrial land - creating capacity for around 100,000 jobs by 2035.

While Labor is making it easier to build more homes and unlock land for jobs, the Liberals want to make it harder to build homes and harder for young people to stay in the communities they grew up in.

As stated by Minister for Planning Sonya Kilkenny

"This is all about making it easier for families to live close to what matters to them, including close to jobs."

"Labor is focused on building homes everywhere to give Victorians housing choice - the Liberals want to tear that choice away."

As stated by Member for Cranbourne Pauline Richards

"This new neighbourhood will mean more people in my community can live close to work, spend less time commuting and more time with their families."
