More Inclusive Ricketts Point

We're upgrading the public toilet facilities at Ricketts Point, Beaumaris, to improve access and safety for all users.

As part of the upgrade, we're including a Changing Places facility to better support people with complex disabilities and their carers. These fully accessible facilities provide extra space and specialist equipment like adult-sized change tables and ceiling hoists.

The current building is outdated and doesn't meet modern accessibility standards. This upgrade will ensure the facility is safer, easier to access and better connected to surrounding paths, carparks and the foreshore.

We're also working with local groups to make sure the design reflects how the facility is used today. The design incorporates a storage area for the Marine Care Ricketts Point and the Disabled Divers Association.

The works are scheduled to commence on Monday 16 February, and expected to take approximately four months to complete, weather permitting.

We're committed to planning for and providing the infrastructure our community uses every day - from public toilets to parks, footpaths and foreshore spaces.
