The Albanese Labor Government is making it easier for small business directors to understand their responsibilities, make confident decisions and keep their business on track.
Recently launched, the new ASIC Small Business Director Essentials hub provides directors a free one stop shop for practical information and resources about their legal responsibilities, key risks and obligations.
The new hub brings together straightforward guidance and interactive learning in one place, helping small business owners build their knowledge and avoid costly mistakes.
The Albanese Labor Government is backing Australia's 2.7 million small businesses with the certainty and support they need to invest, grow and create jobs. That's why we're reducing unnecessary regulatory burden, modernising outdated requirements and delivering $10.2 billion a year in regulatory burden reduction through our Regulatory Reform Agenda.
That includes making the $20,000 instant asset write‑off permanent, giving small businesses long‑term certainty to invest in the equipment and assets they need.
The Government is also:
- providing free and subsidised digital support through the Digital Solutions program
- introducing loss refundability for start‑ups
- expanding tax incentives for venture capital
- extending funding for the Small Business Debt Helpline and the NewAccess for Small business Owners to support the financial and mental wellbeing of small business owners.
The Albanese Labor Government is delivering practical support that helps businesses invest, grow and plan for the future.
