- Traffic controllers and dangerous goods drivers now have access to their accreditations on the Queensland Digital Licence app.
- 19 different digital credentials are now available, with the Queensland Digital Licence app adopted by more than 1.3 million Queenslanders.
- The Crisafulli Government's rollout of digital credentials ends several years of delays in the delivery of digital licences under the former Labor Government.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland's future and a better lifestyle through a stronger economy after a decade of decline under Labor, with traffic controllers and dangerous goods drivers across Queensland now able to go digital with their accreditations integrated into the Queensland Digital Licence app.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering convenience and efficiency for Queensland's workforce, including 15,000 traffic controllers and more than 6,500 dangerous goods drivers who play a critical role in keeping Queensland roads safe and economy moving.
Traffic controllers and dangerous goods drivers will now benefit from the app's industry-leading security measures, including:
- protecting private information, reducing the risk of identity theft and fraud
- storing multiple licences safely and securely in one place
- understanding their licence status, whether it is active, up for renewal or expired.
This latest addition builds on previous successful integrations into the Digital Licence app, including driver accreditations released in March for taxi and ride share drivers, limousing drivers and bus drivers.
It also builds on the integration of QBCC licences into the Digital Licence app, giving more than 105,000 tradies access to nine QBCC licences.
More than 25,000 Queenslanders within the Industry Authorities profession are now using the app, and over 1.3 million Queenslanders in total have opted to go digital by storing their information in the Digital Licence app.
Minister for Customer Services and Open Data Steve Minnikin said the inclusion of traffic controller and dangerous goods driver accreditations in the app highlights the Crisafulli Government's commitment to delivering modern, user-friendly services for Queenslanders.
"Our goal is to provide Queenslanders with flexible, modern options for accessing government services, whether they choose digital or traditional methods," Minister Minnikin said.
"Traffic controllers and dangerous goods drivers play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of Queensland's roads and economy.
"Digitising their licences ensures they can manage their credentials with greater ease and security."
More credentials will be added to the Queensland Digital Licence app in the future, further expanding its benefits for Queenslanders.
