More Than 80km/h Over Limit In Glen Waverley

Nunawading Highway Patrol were left shaking their heads after they picked up a P-plater more than 80km/h over the limit in Glen Waverley this morning.

The driver was first spotted travelling outbound on the Monash Freeway, near Blackburn Road, travelling more than 130km/h in the 100km/h zone about 12.15am.

Members, who were performing laser speed detection duties as part of Operation Trinity, took off after the motorist to pull him over.

The 20-year-old, who wasn't aware police were approaching, appeared to increase his speed travelling in excess of 180km/h.

Officers activated their lights and pulled over the Dandenong man on the EastLink exit shortly after.

The new model Ford Ranger Wildtrak was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1000.

The man is expected to be charged on summons with exceeding the speed limit and other traffic related offences.
