More Victorians Find Home In Springvale South

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government is delivering more homes for families in Springvale South closer to jobs, public transport and essential services.

Minister for Development Victoria and Precincts Harriet Shing today announced 47 new townhouses at the Coomoora residential development are now complete.

Situated along Coomoora Road, the townhouses built by Creation Projects include a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, providing a diverse range of housing options for people in Melbourne's growing south east.

All homes at Coomoora achieve a minimum 6.5 star energy rating and include double glazed windows, induction cooktops and heat pump hot water services - meaning these homes will help to minimise running costs as they require less energy to heat and cool.

The vibrant new community also contains 16 land-only lots to encourage future development in the growing region.

Aboriginal Housing Victoria has purchased four of the townhouses within the development which will provide much needed social homes to First Peoples as part of the Labor Government's landmark $5.3 billion Big Housing Build.

With residents settled in their new homes, Coomoora offers residents access to dedicated open space areas which make up 20 per cent of the site, including landscaped parklands and existing trees for outdoor recreation.

As stated by Minister for Development Victoria and Precincts Harriet Shing

"Coomoora is another example of helping our suburbs to grow well - this development delivers beautiful, modern and energy efficient family homes right where people want them - close to jobs, education, transport and services."

"We're delivering hundreds of homes across the state for First Nations Victorians through our record investment in social and affordable housing, including through the considered and effective use of land just like this in established suburbs."

As stated by Member for Clarinda, Meng Heang Tak

"This development has delivered high-quality, affordable, and sustainable homes, ensuring more Victorians have a place to call their own."

"It's fantastic to see families settling into their new homes, with easy access to parks, sports facilities, bushwalking trails, and Keysborough Primary School - perfect for an active and connected lifestyle."
