The Morrison Government is once again demonstrating its commitment to the people of the Hunter Valley delivering a 'Care Fair' which will connect local job seekers with hundreds of jobs across critical sectors such as aged care, disability services and early childhood education.
The 'Care Fair' reflects an assessment that the Hunter is one of several regions across Australia experiencing high demand for aged care and disability services workers.
The targeted jobs fair will be held at the NEX Newcastle Exhibition and Conference Centre. There will be 26 employers from the aged care, disability services and early childhood education and care sectors, each recruiting for multiple roles within their organisations meaning hundreds of jobs will be on offer.
The Federal Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, Stuart Robert, said this targeted 'Care Fair' would help local organisations in the Hunter connect with local job-seekers which was a priority given the rapidly expanding opportunities in the local care sector.
'I have said it before and I will say it again, if you work in the Hunter Valley you should be bloody proud of what you do, whether you're working in a coal mine, a childcare centre or support Australians with disability we will always protect your job,' Minister Robert said.
'But there are also many people in the Hunter looking to get into work and that is what this 'Care Fair' is all about, connecting local organisations with local job seekers and they make a big difference,'

Senator Hollie Hughes said opportunities are available in both skilled and unskilled roles, with high demand for support workers, domestic care assistants and early childhood educators, among others.
'This is a wonderful opportunity for job seekers in the Hunter to find work in sectors that are crying out for talent,' Senator Hughes said.
'Employers in these sectors are looking to hire straight away, and additional vacancies are anticipated in this important industry of high growth.
'It's vital we conduct events like this in a COVID-safe manner, and numbers are therefore limited so I would encourage anybody keen to find out more to register their interest.'
The event has been split into three sessions to help with COVID safety requirements. The first session will take place from 10:15am to 12:00pm, the second from 12:30pm to 2:15pm and the final session will start at 2:30pm.
These activities form part of the Morrison Government's Home Care Workforce Support Program, which is designed to meet the growing demand for care and support workers across critical industries.
The program also aims to connect employers and job seekers through digital platforms and job fairs, and improve the skills of those looking for work through education and training initiatives.
Future jobs fairs targeted at the aged care, disability services and early childhood education and care sectors will be held across Australia.
