Morrison shields radical IR agenda from voters

A returned Morrison Government backed by anti-worker lobbyists like the IPA would be the most extreme government in Australian history.

The IPA's agenda would create an Australia with virtually no rights for working people and put us on the fast track to a dog-eat-dog American-style system.

Australians have already struggled through six years of wages going backwards, costs of living spiraling out of control and constant attacks on working people and their representatives. We have to change the government.

As stated by ACTU Secretary Sally McManus

"The prospect of a returned Morrison Government, backed by extreme anti-worker lobbyists, should be concerning to all working people.

"This Government has always had laws before Parliament to take away worker's rights. They introduced a politicised and discredited Registered Organisations Commission whose first act was televised police raids on union offices. They brought in a politicised police force for the building industry. They voted eight times to cut penalty rates, failed to support raising the minimum wage once, allowed open rorting of the visa system, oversaw a wage theft epidemic and failed to act to stop deaths at work.

"We know that Morrison will continue to attack working people, but he hasn't released a single industrial relations policy. We don't even know who the Minister would be. Working people have a right to know what he's planning.

"Rolling back unfair dismissal laws, returning to WorkChoices and abolishing the minimum wage are all popular ideas in the Liberal party room. Mr Morrison has to clarify where he stands.

"In order to protect the rights of working people we have to change the government and change the rules."
