Motor Vehicle And Drug Offences, South Burnett

Detectives from Murgon's Criminal Investigation Branch have charged two people as part of ongoing investigations into vehicle and drug offences in the South Burnett region.

Police will allege two boys, aged 14 and 15, were involved in the theft of a 2023 Mazda CX3 from a Sipples Avenue address in Moffatdale on 8 December and a 2021 Nissan XTrail from a Shelton Street address in Murgon on 2 December.

Police will further allege the 15-year-old boy was also involved in the theft of a 2020 LDT T60 from a Haager Drive address in Moffatdale on 16 December.

A 15-year-old Cherbourg boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle and one count each of armed robbery and stealing.

He is due to appear in the Murgon Childrens Court on 6 January.

A 14-year-old Cherbourg boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in the Murgon Childrens Court on 10 March.

On 18 December, police executed two search warrants at addresses in Cherbourg and located a quantity of cannabis and drug utensils.

A 24-year-old Cherbourg man was issued a drug diversion in relation to possessing utensils and fail to dispose of a needle or syringe.

A 30-year-old Cherbourg woman was issued a drug diversion in relation to possessing dangerous drugs and possess utensils.

Investigations continue.
