Motorcyclist dies after Marong collision

A man has died following a collision between a motorbike and truck in Marong today (29 October).

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established, however it is believed the two vehicles collided on the Calder Alternative Highway about 12pm.

The male rider, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 29-year-old New South Wales man, was not injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are en route and road closures are expected to remain in place for several hours.

The investigation is ongoing.
