Motorcyclist dies following Brighton East collision

Police and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal collision in Brighton East, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a motorcyclist was travelling south along the Nepean Highway about 11.30pm last night (30 November) when it was struck by a north-bound vehicle, which was turning into Thomas Street.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the male rider, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 35-year-old woman from Highett, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

She has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are currently and the investigation is ongoing.

The Nepean Highway is currently closed southbound between Centre Road and Brewer Road, with diversions in place.
