Motorcyclist loses wheels in Warrnambool

Police clamped down on a motorcyclist overnight after he was allegedly caught speeding in Warrnambool with ice in his possession, Victoria Police say.

Officers spotted the motorcycle speeding east along Daltons Road about 3am before losing sight of it again.

The motorcyclist was again seen by police on Coulstock Street, where they attempted to intercept it.

The bike continued travelling through a football oval and through some paddocks, where the rider fell from the vehicle and allegedly fled on foot.

He was arrested by police shortly after and also found to be in possession of ice.

The 28-year-old Warrnambool man, who was also unlicensed and riding an unregistered motorbike, had his bike impounded at a cost of more than $1000.

He is currently being interviewed in relation to traffic and drug-related offences and is likely to be direct presented to Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court today.
