Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash near Penrith

A man has sustained serious injuries following a crash in Sydney's west yesterday.

Just after 4.30pm (Saturday 1 August 2020), emergency services were called to the intersection of Dunheved Road and Greenbank Drive, Werrington Downs, after reports a motorcycle and car collided.

The rider, a 41-year-old man, was treated at the scene for suspected spinal injuries and was transported to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of a Mazda 121, an 81-year-old man, was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment of head and rib injuries and mandatory testing.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue.
