Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash - state's south

Police are investigating after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in the Shellharbour region.

Just before 7pm yesterday (Monday 24 May 2021), police were called to Southern Cross Boulevard, Shell Cove, following reports of a collision between a Subaru sedan and motorcycle.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and treated the rider, a 48-year-old Shell Cove man, for multiple leg and ankle fractures.

He was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The driver – a 20-year-old man also from Shell Cove – was uninjured and underwent mandatory testing at the scene.

As investigations continue, Lake Illawarra Police are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward.
