Our government is committed to providing Canadians with diverse professional artistic experiences in their communities and to bringing artists and community members together.
Neil Ellis, Member of Parliament (Bay of Quinte) was in Wellington today to announce that the Government of Canada is investing $10,000 to The Festival Players of Prince Edward County and $10,000 in The Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival.
MP Ellis made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism.
This investment, made through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will support these two organisations' artistic seasons, allowing locals and visitors to experience exceptional theatre and music in Prince Edward County.

The Canada Arts Presentation Fund (CAPF) provides financial assistance to organizations that professionally present arts festivals or performing arts series (arts presenters) and organizations that offer support to arts presenters.

Each year, the CAPF supports 650 professional arts festivals and performing arts series, as well as other activities related to arts presentation, in more than 250 communities across Canada.

The Festival Players of Prince Edward County is a professional theatre company founded in 2006 and features engaging Canadian-produced theatre performances.

The Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival was founded in 2004 and features performances by classical and contemporary classical musicians, with a primary focus on chamber music by Canadian performers and composers.
