Penrith City Council has completed essential upgrades to the northern fields at Mulgoa Rise in Glenmore Park, delivering improved turf quality and better field performance for local football players.
Mulgoa Rise is one of the most heavily used venues in the Nepean Football Association's 32-club competition. The removal of existing turf, enhancing soil quality and installation of new turf are essential upgrades to sustain the facility's intensive use.
Penrith Mayor Todd Carney welcomed the completion of the works and said the improvements will benefit the community for years to come.
"The upgrades at Mulgoa Rise are vital to support the continued use of the fields at such a high frequency," Cr Carney said.
"Maintaining high-quality playing surfaces at Mulgoa Rise ensures athletes can train and compete safely, while keeping the venue ready to meet the needs of our growing community."
The project was proudly funded by Penrith City Council in association with the NSW Government.
Member for Badgerys Creek Tanya Davies said the completed Mulgoa Rise field upgrades would deliver lasting benefits for the local community.
"I'm pleased to have supported Council's Local Small Commitments Allocation grant program application for the renovation of the sports field surfaces at Mulgoa Rise and am thrilled that this project has come to fruition," Ms Davies said.
"It supports our community's competitive and leisurely use of the fields and meets the high-quality standard that our locals deserve."
