Multiple robbery offences, South Brisbane District

Detectives are investigating after a number of people were robbed and sustained injures overnight in the South Brisbane area.

Officers were called to Comer Street at 9.55pm following reports that a woman was walking in a car park and was assaulted by a man and had her handbag stolen.

Police attended the scene and the woman was transported to hospital for treatment of an injury to her shoulder.

Shortly after, at 10.30pm, officers were called to Valhalla Street in Sunnybank after a woman was pushed to the ground and had her handbag stolen.

She was transported to hospital for treatment of a possible fracture to her wrist and abrasions.

Officers were then called to a third incident that occurred at approximately 10:40pm pm on Turton Street in Sunnybank where another woman had her handbag stolen and received minor injuries during the incident.

Shortly after 10:45pm a woman had her handbag stolen from a table whilst dining at a restaurant in Market Square on Mains Road in Sunnybank

Detectives believe all four incidents are linked.

Police are searching for a man who is described as African in appearance, around 170-175cm tall and has a slim build and was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper.

In all four incidents, the man was seen getting into a dark grey coloured Audi RS6 Station Wagon with New South Wales registration NBR34E which was reported stolen earlier this month in Wakerley.

Police are urging members of the public to NOT approach the vehicle and call them immediately if they see the car.

Investigations are continuing.
