Murdoch serious crash

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are seeking information regarding an incident that occurred in Murdoch on Wednesday 12 May 2021.

About 2:20pm two police motorcycles were responding to a complaint of three motorcycles travelling together at excessive speed whilst wearing no helmets on the Kwinana Freeway cycleway near Farrington Road.

When officers attended they saw a male person sitting on a stationary motorcycle on the cycleway. As police approached the motorcycle, the rider abandoned the bike and ran south along the cycleway, colliding with a police motorcycle.

The 15-year-old youth was conveyed to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment of a serious leg injury received. The police officer was uninjured.
