Murray River to launch e-Planning portal

Murray River Council

Lodging Development Applications will be a more streamlined process at Murray River Council, with the introduction of the NSW State Government's e-Planning Portal from July 1.

The e-Planning Portal is an electronic application platform for the lodgement of Development Applications (DA), Construction Certificates (CC) and Complying Development Certificates (CDC), along with other relevant planning applications, such as driveway crossovers.

The online portal will be the single place to go for planning processes and transactions and allows applicants to track their applications whilst delivering updates during key stages of the application process.

"The NSW Planning Portal is an online environment where people can access planning services and information at any time and submit all development related approvals for Council's consideration," Mayor Chris Bilkey said.

"This is a great step forward from Council's current process of being a largely paper-based transaction. This online platform is a more efficient system for residents and our local builders and developers."

From July 1, all approvals that would normally be submitted through Council's Planning and Building Departments or over the counter at Council offices will only be accepted online via the e-Planning Portal.

Once an application is lodged, Council is then able to review applications, request advice from state agencies, request further information from applicants and allow applicants to access details around the status of individual applications - all through the portal.

The platform is already live in many other councils across NSW and offers a range of digital planning services, mapping tools and reporting tools to assist everyone involved in a proposed development project.

"The Portal offers a single place to go for all our planning transactions, making it simpler, faster and more transparent for everyone," Cr Bilkey said.

Anyone wishing to lodge an application will need to establish their own account on the NSW e-Planning Portal.
