In preparation for the forthcoming fire season, Council's Fire Prevention Roadside Slashing Program is now underway, starting in the north of the Shire, which dries off earlier than the southern parts.
Crews are working around Alexandra at the moment, before moving on to Maintongoon, Spring Creek and UT Creek Roads.
The program will run through until the end of December. Further slashing will be arranged as required throughout the summer months.
