Murrumbeena theft and deceptions

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a theft from a Murrumbeena home and subsequent deceptions in Mentone and Heatherton.

Investigators have been told a thief stole a wallet from a Margretta Avenue home on 31 January.

A bank card was then used to make purchases from a fast food outlet in Heatherton shortly before 1am on 1 February and a service station in Mentone a short time later

The offender is perceived to be Pacific Islander in appearance and aged in his late teens or early 20s.

He was wearing a red hooded jumper, black short, black trainers and carrying a black and white checked bag across his chest.

Police have released images of a man they believe can assist with their investigation.
