NAIDOC Week faces up to Australian Prime Ministers

Want to hear a First Nations perspective about some of Australia's most renowned Prime Ministerial statements?

As NAIDOC Week celebrations draw to a close, local writer, researcher and performer Lynden Nicholls will present Facing Up - a powerful performance piece commenting on Prime Ministerial statements about Australia's Indigenous population from 1901 to today.

This free community NAIDOC Week event features local Indigenous identities Zerene Webster, Tammy Gilson, Nicola Ingram and is proudly supported by the City of Ballarat's Koorie Engagement Action Group (KEAG). 

Facing Up will be held on Sunday 14 July at 2pm, located in the Prime Ministers Avenue, Ballarat Botanical Gardens.

NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.   

The National NAIDOC theme for 2019 is: "Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let's work together for a shared future".
