Nancy Hillier Memorial Lecture 2025: Bayside

The guest speaker at the 2025 Nancy Hillier Memorial Lecture will be environmental advocate and former Federal Minister Peter Garrett AM.

A close friend and long-time ally of Nancy Hillier, Peter represented Kingsford Smith from 2004 - 2013 and stood beside Nancy in many landmark community campaigns. Peter will reflect on environmental legacies in action - how grassroots movements evolve, alliances are built, and meaningful change is sustained over time.

This annual event honours Nancy Hillier's remarkable legacy as one of Botany's most fearless advocates for environmental and social justice while providing an avenue for others to debate issues that resonate with Nancy's work, and inspiring others to continue her fight for fairness, community voice and sustainability.

This free event is held in partnership with the UNSW Sydney Environment & Society Group
