Naponda Hospital Auxiliary welcomes Mayor as its first patron

Naponda Hospital Auxiliary has welcomed Mayor Cr Peta Betts as its very first patron, recognising the hard work she has done on behalf of the Auxiliary through her "I know someone from Deni" t-shirt challenge.

"This is a great honour. I am proud to be able to support organisations and causes like the Naponda Hospital Auxiliary, which has been serving the community for 50 years," said Mayor Cr Betts.

Naponda Hospital Auxiliary runs three community enterprises, with their major priority, being the raising of funds for the Deniliquin Hospital.

The Mayor is also active in encouraging younger women to consider joining the auxiliary and participating in raising much-needed funds for the Deniliquin Hospital.

"Over the past seven years, the Naponda Hospital Auxiliary has raised $194,000 funds for the purchasing of immediate and much needed extra goods and equipment including chairs for the Oncology and Dialysis units, a portable ultrasound machine, an Avalo Emergency Cart, and extra training and education for staff. The work of the Auxiliary directly benefits our loved ones," she added.

Naponda was also at The Deniliquin Ute Muster at the weekend, selling "I know someone from Deni" merchandise during the festival.
