Narrandera Shire Council is pleased to announce its decision to accept the tender submitted by Keane Civil for the Barellan Sewer Scheme Construction.

Following the conclusion of the open tender process on Thursday 27 July 2023, the tender assessment panel carefully evaluated all submissions. Keane Civil emerged as the preferred tenderer, scoring second highest by a very narrow margin in the evaluation process. Furthermore, Keane Civil's tender was the only one that fell within the allocated budget of $8,300,000 (excluding GST). The company showed impressive performance across all evaluation criteria, highlighting their skills and abilities to successfully deliver the project.

During the evaluation process, contacted referees spoke highly of Keane Civil, noting their professionalism, adherence to schedules, and exemplary safety records. These factors further consolidated the decision to award the tender to Keane Civil.

The Barellan Sewer project has been a focus for Narrandera Shire Council following the finalisation of its design in late 2022. After updating cost estimates, Council approved a budget increase to $8,300,000 at the April 2023 meeting, enabling the procurement of the construction phase.

The tender evaluation process encompassed a comprehensive assessment of various criteria, including relevant experience, general history, technical skills, management capabilities, method, time performance, and price.

Narrandera Shire Council is confident in its decision to select Keane Civil as the preferred tenderer for the Barellan Sewer Scheme Construction. Council looks forward to collaborating with Keane Civil on this significant project, which aims to enhance the sewer infrastructure in the Barellan area.

Mayor Cr. Neville Kschenka said, "It's pleasing to see this project come to fruition, it will greatly benefit the town in terms of future development".

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Narrandera Shire Council.
