National Farmers Federation Welcomes Shadow Ministry

The National Farmers' Federation (NFF) has welcomed Opposition Leader Sussan Ley's announcement of the Shadow Ministry.

Nationals Leader David Littleproud has been returned as the Shadow Minister for Agriculture.

Jamie Chaffey, the newly elected Member for Parkes, has been appointed as Shadow Assistant Minister for Agriculture.

Angie Bell was named the Shadow Environment Minister, and Ross Cadell the Shadow Water Minister, as well as Fisheries and Forestry.

Kevin Hogan continues as the Shadow Trade Minister.

NFF President David Jochinke said he looked forward to working with the Coalition team on behalf of Australian farmers and regional communities.

"The Federal Election is now behind us. As always, we will work closely with the Federal Government, Opposition and crossbench to make sure farmers are at the heart of policy discussions," Mr Jochinke said.

"We'll continue to progress the goals of our Members, farmers and regional communities.

"NFF is intent on reaching our 2030 Roadmap goal of turning Australian agriculture into a $100 billion industry.

"This vision has had strong bipartisan support since its inception, and we look forward to working with elected members of all stripes to reach that goal," Mr Jochinke said.
