This National Forestry Day, the Albanese Labor Government is reaffirming its support for Australia's forestry and forest products sector, and celebrating the significant contribution it makes across the country.

Australia's forestry industry is a key part of Australia's national economy, and is critical to supporting a Future Made in Australia, delivering more housing, and supporting our Net Zero transition.

Our forestry sector is also the economic bedrock for many rural communities and a significant employer in our regions, supporting around 52,000 jobs nationally.

That is why the Albanese Labor Government is delivering $300 million to support the future of the forestry industry.

The Government continues to work with the sector to progress its priorities, and recently released the Timber Fibre Strategy, which sets out a pathway for the future growth of Australia's proud forestry industry.
