National Visual Art Education Conference Satellite

The Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre will host a satellite program as part of the National Visual Art Education Conference (NVAEC) from Monday 19 to Wednesday 21 January 2026. Presented by the National Gallery of Australia, NVAEC will bring together teachers, artists, cultural practitioners and thought-leaders to inspire and energise best-practice teaching and learning in the visual arts.

NVAEC 26 includes keynote addresses from Tony Albert, After the Rain artists, and international guests, plus workshops, gallery experiences, performances, social gatherings and Teachers' Voice presentations. The conference will be live-streamed with in-person events happening at The Riddoch on Wednesday 21 January including curator tours, an artist talk, Boandik Elder workshops and experiences and a livestream of the keynote address by Gunai woman and award-winning multidisciplinary artist Kirli Saunders.

By purchasing an online ticket to the conference attendees can access Monday and Tuesday keynotes and workshops online, before joining the in-person satellite event on Wednesday 21 January at The Riddoch.

"This is an incredible opportunity for artists and art educators across South Australia to join this rich learning experience offered together with the National Gallery of Australia, here at The Riddoch. We hope to see you here for a rewarding day of interactive and inspired learning," Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre Director Ashleigh Whatling said.
