National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation's volunteers, this year taking place from Monday 18 May - Sunday 24 May.
During these uncertain times, we believe now, more than ever, is the time to recognise volunteers and spread the message that volunteers around Australia really are Changing Communities. Changing Lives.
In an ordinary year, thousands of events are held across the country during NVW to say thank you to the 6 million Australians who volunteer their time. We understand that many of these events are no longer going ahead, however we encourage all organisations that wish to thank their volunteers to consider moving their events to an online format or acknowledge volunteers in different ways through social media or other digital formats.
This year, Volunteering Australia is providing ideas, inspiration and a platform to celebrate National Volunteer Week in 2020.
