National Volunteer Week 2025

National Volunteer Week runs from 19 to 25 May and is the largest annual volunteering celebration.

It's a nationally recognised week designed to raise awareness about the vital support that millions of volunteers provide throughout Australia.

The theme for 2025 is 'Connecting Communities', celebrating the power of bringing people together through volunteering. Volunteering creates lasting relationships that enrich lives and strengthen our communities.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said: "Volunteers are the heartbeat of our community and it's important to acknowledge and celebrate the significant work and the outstanding contribution of all our volunteers in Wyndham."

"That's why we are lighting up a tree in red at the Piazza, in Watton St, Werribee from 19 to 25 May to show our appreciation for Wyndham's volunteers and the valuable work they do."

"Volunteers play an integral role in Wyndham, assisting others to make a vital contribution to the community."

"National Volunteer Week is the perfect time to acknowledge and thank all the volunteers in Wyndham."

"On behalf of Council and the wider community we appreciate the instrumental role that volunteers play in our community - giving up their time for others, to be helpful, kind and with the best intentions."

"Volunteers help our community in a wide range of ways from helping out at sporting clubs and associations to volunteer emergency services as well as preserving and protecting the environment and raising money for many charities, as well as visiting socially isolated people that are lonely and need companionship."

"Thank you to the many local Wyndham volunteers and the volunteer-involving organisations for your dedication and commitment."
