Nationwide festival returns to Indigo Shire
Australia's largest sustainability and community festival, the Garage Sale Trail, is back this November, remodelled for COVID and bigger than ever.
Garage Sale Trail 2021 will take place online or in the community (restrictions allowing) over three weekends from 6 to 21 November. Supported by Indigo Shire Council, the festival encourages residents to sell, shop and learn about the circular economy.
Indigo Shire Mayor, Jenny O'Connor says the festival is a win-win for the planet and residents' pockets.
"A circular economy means our stuff is kept in use for as long as possible, delivering the highest value it can, for as long as it can. That's something all Indigo Shire residents can really get behind."
On 6-7 November, residents can join a Trail Tutorial online masterclass and learn about "fashion, flipping and fixing the planet". Featuring experts from the world of fashion, styling, finance and sustainability, the workshops cover tips on how to reduce what we waste through reuse and repair. Then, over two big weekends of garage sales, residents can sell pre-loved goods or shop the trail and snag a bargain either online or COVID-safely in the community (restrictions permitting) on 13-14 and 20-21 November.
Whether community members plan to host a sale virtually or in-person, sellers will receive a variety of resources and tips to make their sale a COVIDSafe success, including touch-free QR code payments enabled by PayPal.
