NDIS Screening Check Renewals Now Available Online

  • NDIS Screening Check Renewals can now be lodged online via DoTDirect
  • Individuals must update their personal details to receive automatic renewal notifications
  • Screening Checks play an integral part in supporting safeguards for people living with disability

A new National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Screening Check system has been introduced to allow workers to renew their credentials online.

Workers applying for renewal can now lodge their application and verify their details online via the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure's DoTDirect service.

The NDIS Check is valid for five years across Australia. During this period, cleared workers are subject toongoing monitoringof their criminal history and other relevant information.

The screening checks help NDIS service providers determine that individuals seeking to work, or continuing to work, in certain NDIS roles do not present a risk to people with disability.

People intending to continue work within NDIS approved services must maintain current and accurate personal details to ensure they receive a direct renewal reminder when they become eligible to reapply.

The new online check system reinforces the Cook Government's commitment to investing in a more inclusive community.

As stated by Disability Services Minister Hannah Beazley:

"NDIS workers and service providers play an integral role in supporting people with disability and creating a more inclusive Western Australia.

"Through these sensible changes, the new online renewal service modernises renewal processes for NDIS workers and reduces their administrative burden without compromising safety.

"All background and criminal history assessments continue, ensuring appropriate safeguards remain in place to protect people with disability."
