Necklace thief in Brunswick

Fawkner police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a suspect for a theft in Brunswick last month.

Investigators have been told a man approached an older woman in a supermarket inside a shopping centre on Sydney Road about 10:30 am on Saturday 30 January.

It is believed the man snatched a necklace from the Brunswick woman's neck before running away towards Sydney Road.

The 88-year-old victim was not injured in the incident.

Investigators have release images of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, about 182cm tall, and was wearing a red hat, white Nike Air T-shirt, a black wind breaker, light grey shorts and white Asics shoes.
