Nelson Bay Rings in 2026 With 9pm Fireworks Show

Port Stephen

Port Stephens Council is gearing up for another family-friendly New Year's Eve on the Nelson Bay foreshore, with thousands of locals and visitors expected to come together for the 2025 d'Albora New Year's Eve 9pm Fireworks.

The event remains one of the most popular celebrations in the region, offering a safe, alcohol-free and family-friendly way to welcome the New Year. This year, d'Albora has come on board as the new naming rights sponsor, strengthening a long-standing partnership that supports community events at one of Port Stephens' key waterfront destinations.

Mayor Leah Anderson said New Year's Eve at Nelson Bay continues to be a highlight for residents and holidaymakers.

"It's always a great atmosphere down at the foreshore - families with picnics, visitors exploring the marina, and people of all ages enjoying the music and the fireworks," Mayor Anderson said.

"Without major sponsorship, this event would not be possible, and we're excited to be working with d'Albora to bring the NYE fireworks to Nelson Bay this year," Mayor Anderson added.

The d'Albora New Year's Eve Fireworks will feature:

  • Live music from 3pm to 6pm with Jake Folbigg
  • DJ BIGGS from 6pm to 9pm, in the lead-up to the fireworks
  • Fireworks display from 9pm
  • A range of casual and formal dining options, including restaurants, cafés, bars and the marina ice creamery
  • Kids' activities and special offers at Zoneout Games
  • Plus, retailers will be open with NYE glow sticks and novelty items available

d'Albora Managing Director Julien Pouteau said events like New Year's Eve play an important role in connecting locals, visitors and businesses.

"Our focus is to create a welcoming destination that highlights d'Albora Marina Nelson Bay's vibrant mix of lifestyle offerings across, berthing, dining, retail and community activity on the waterfront", Mr Pouteau said.

Port Stephens Council is encouraging people to arrive early, plan for road closures and consider making a restaurant booking if they plan to dine at the marina before the 9pm fireworks.

The following temporary road closures will be in place in Nelson Bay on Wednesday 31 December from approximately 8pm to 9:45pm to support the fireworks display:

  • Victoria Parade
  • Laman Street
  • Government Road
  • Yacaaba Street
  • Shoal Bay Road (Between Magnus Street and Victoria Parade only)

Closure times may change on the night as directed by NSW Police in consultation with Council.
