  • Minister for Racing

Minister for Racing Martin Pakula today announced the appointment of new board members for Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) and Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV).

Professor Jack Anderson, an expert in sports law and integrity matters, has been appointed to the HRV board for a three-year term.

Lisa Tripodi is the newest board member of the GRV board, appointed also for three years, recommended by more than 20 years' experience in accounting, assurance services and risk management.

Ms Tripodi is an independent audit committee member for seven councils across Victoria and the Victorian Institute of Training. Previous clients have included the Victorian Department of Justice and the Victorian Planning Authority.

Through her role as partner for accounting and assurance services at Oakton Consulting (now NTT), Ms Tripodi has audit committee experience with GRV and a strong understanding of the greyhound racing industry.

Prof. Anderson is a Director of Sports Law Studies at the Melbourne Law School and an arbitrator with the National Sports Tribunal and the International Amateur Athletics Federation.

He serves as an ethics commissioner with the International Tennis Federation, a disciplinary tribunal member with Football Federation Victoria and a member of Basketball Australia's National Integrity Advisory Group.

Harness racing and greyhound racing have continued without crowds in Victoria through the coronavirus pandemic under strict biosecurity protocols including health checks for participants entering meetings.

As noted by Minister for Racing Martin Pakula

"Jack Anderson's expertise in sports law and integrity matters will be a great asset to harness racing and the operations of the HRV board."

"Lisa Tripodi brings extensive knowledge of greyhound racing to the GRV board along with valuable professional expertise."
