Police have renewed their appeal for public assistance, releasing new CCTV as inquiries continue into a place shooting in Auburn last year.
Strike Force Martorell was established by officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command after shots were fired into a home and a vehicle on Chisholm Road, about 3pm Wednesday 23 October 2024.
About 3.20pm, police and Fire and Rescue NSW were called to car fire in Haughton Street, Carramar. Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire but the 2016-model grey Lexus coupe was destroyed.
The shooting and car fire are believed to be linked, with a public appeal for assistance and CCTV released by investigators in October last year.
CCTV sourced by detectives shows two men dressed in black running from Haughton Street towards Heiden Park and Prospect Creek, before they attempted to drive from Mitchell Street, Carramar, in a grey coloured Mazda CX-3 SUV.
When they failed, they left the scene running toward Symons Street, Fairfield.
Police believe the men also changed their clothing on Symons Street, with one last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper and grey shorts. He is believed to have suffered significant burns to his leg during the incident.
The other man was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt and black pants.
Further inquiries revealed a black Ford Raptor ute was seen on Mitchell Street, Carramar, and police believe it is linked to the delivery of the SUV and the two men.
Police are asking for anyone who was in the vicinity of Heiden Park and Prospect Creek about 3.20pm on that day, or who may have dashcam vision of any of the three vehicles or saw the two men, to come forward.
