Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Stuart Robert, today welcomed the appointment of Mr Martin Hoffman as the incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
Minister Robert said Mr Hoffman has a long and distinguished history of senior leadership roles in service delivery in both the public and private sectors, leading high performing organisations while growing customer satisfaction and staff engagement. He also has deep expertise in digital transformation.
'Mr Hoffman has the dedication, vision, and expertise to lead delivery of the transformational National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for the benefit of each eligible participant,' Mr Robert said.
'He will build on the ground-breaking work already underway and will make a real difference in delivering on the Government's commitment to realising the full benefits of the Scheme for participants.
'I also wish to acknowledge the contribution of Ms Vicki Rundle PSM who has acted as CEO of the NDIA since April of this year, her commitment and dedication to the NDIS is highly valued.'
Mr Hoffman was previously a Commonwealth Deputy Secretary, Secretary of the NSW Department of Finance, Services & Innovation with responsibility for service delivery organisations including Service NSW, NSW Fair Trading, SafeWork NSW, Revenue NSW and the Regulator of the State workers compensation and third-party motor insurance schemes. He also led the recent strategic planning taskforce to set up Services Australia, as part of the Australian Government's commitment to put people at the centre of government and held senior roles in the private sector, including CEO of ninemsn.
Mr Hoffman will take up his three year term on 4 November, 2019.
It is expected that approximately 500,000 Australians with disability will benefit from the NDIS over the next five years.
To support this next stage in the NDIS the Morrison Government has committed to resolving existing issues and introducing a Participant Service Guarantee to support a positive participant experience with the NDIS by 1 July 2020. In order to deliver these improvements to the NDIS, the NDIA will be filling an additional 800 Australian Public Service positions capable of exercising delegations under the NDIS legislation, over the course of the 2019-20 financial year, taking the APS Average Staffing Level to 4,000 from 1 July 2020.
