New Chair appointed to superannuation fund GESB

  • Jo Gaines appointed as Government Employees Superannuation Board (GESB) Chair bringing extensive public sector governance expertise
  • Replaces outgoing Chair Mr John Langoulant AO following appointment as the Agent General in UK and Europe
  • Outgoing Chair thanked for outstanding stewardship since his appointment in 2011 
  • The Governor of Western Australia has today appointed Ms Jo Gaines as Board Chair of GESB, the superannuation fund for WA public sector employees, for a period of up to five years, in accordance with the State Superannuation Act 2000.

    Ms Gaines is an experienced leader and strategic policy director operating at the highest level of government in Western Australia. She has extensive experience across a diverse range of fields, including significant public sector governance expertise.

    Ms Gaines' appointment as Chair replaces Mr John Langoulant AO who has been appointed as the Agent General for WA in the United Kingdom and Europe.

    As stated by Premier Mark McGowan:

    "I would like to thank Mr Langoulant who provided strong leadership in his ten years as Board Chair of GESB and wish him all the best in his new role as Agent General for WA.

    "I would also like to congratulate Ms Gaines on her appointment as Board Chair of GESB. She brings extensive experience in leadership and governance to the role."
