New changerooms have been built at Jimboomba's Kurrajong Park, home to Jimboomba United Football Club (JUFC), thanks to support from Logan City Council.
The $935,000 project, jointly funded by Council and the Queensland Government, will include new toilets, showers, a large storage space and an access ramp.
Mayor Jon Raven said Council's investment in community and sporting infrastructure was essential to support the growing number of people choosing to call the area home.
"Logan is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country because of all the amazing opportunities and facilities we have to offer," Mayor Raven said.
"Between affordable homes, a community where everyone feels welcome, and top-notch parks, our city is the perfect spot for families.
"I can't wait to see local families and footballers enjoy these new facilities."
Deputy Mayor and Division 9 Councillor Scott Bannan said he was pleased Council could help give another local sporting club a leg up.
"It was great we could get these new changerooms built and open before preseason training started," Cr Bannan said.
"Additions like these mean a lot to our local clubs, who always go above and beyond to make sport possible for everyone.
"They will also help bring more activities to Kurrajong Park, such as walking football or assisted football, making the fields more accessible and inclusive for our community."
The project was jointly funded by Council ($585,000) and the Queensland Government through the Minor Infrastructure and Inclusive Facilities Fund ($350,000).
Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the Queensland Government was proud to support the project.
"Queensland is the home of Australia sport and as we lead into the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games it's crucial that we have fit-for-purpose and accessible facilities to help more Queenslanders get active," Minister Mander said.
"The partnership between the Crisafulli Government and the Logan City Council is helping deliver new facilities such as these changerooms for the community and the Jimboomba United Football Club."
"It's fantastic to see the growing number of female players in Jimboomba, and we will continue to support grassroots clubs right across the state to encourage greater participation."
The upgraded facility will help JUFC meet the demands of its current and future growth.
With an increase of 10-13% participation in recent seasons, the previous changerooms could only support one senior-team game at a time.
JUFC President Tatijana Lam said the club warmly welcomed Council's investment.
"Our membership keeps growing, and with that comes the need for modern, fit‑for‑purpose facilities to support our players and volunteers," Tatijana said.
"These new changerooms will help make football more inclusive and accessible for everyone in our community, and we're really looking forward to the 2026 season and beyond."
