Sport in Tyabb is set to be improved with the refurbishment of the changing room facilities at Bunguyan Recreation Reserve Pavilion.

The reserve is home to the Tyabb Football Netball Club, Tyabb Junior Football Club and Tyabb Cricket Club. Members of the clubs and our community will all benefit from the refurbished facilities both inside and out.

The Mornington Peninsula Shire committed $1.51 million and secured a further $150,000 from the Federal Government. The sporting clubs of Bunguyan Reserve have also made an in-kind contribution to this project.

Work has already started and the upgrades will meet the standards set by peak sporting bodies for netball, AFL and cricket.

The completed redevelopment will include upgrades to the existing change rooms for home and away players and umpires, new toilets both ambulant and unisex, new shower cubicles, storage and office space, and a refurbished kitchen and bar area. New accessible public toilet facilities will be included in the new pavilion layout to benefit our community using the reserve.

With participation levels continuing to increase at female, junior and senior levels including players, officials, and volunteers, the refurbishment will future-proof the sporting facilities.

Work is due to be finished by December 2021.
