New Devils' Den Taking Shape In Kingston

Tasmanian Government

The Tasmania Devils' state-of-the-art home base is progressing, with the release of the tender to prepare the site for the high-performance centre and wider development of the precinct.

The excavation for the new Tasmania Devils' High-Performance Training and Administration Centre will be combined with the construction of the new shared oval, saving costs and time.

Acting Minister for Sport, Gavin Pearce, said this combined delivery approach is the most efficient way to turn the area into Tasmania's single biggest sporting precinct.

"This project will deliver a home for the Kingborough Tigers Football Club, something I know the community was very focussed on," Mr Pearce said.

"Tasmanians are getting excited about the arrival of our very own AFL and AFLW teams.

"With the Devils already scheduled to take to the field on 21 March in the VFL and 16 May in the VFLW, this is the next step in the plan to take the teams to the biggest stage.

"It is a clear sign the AFL and AFLW Devils are on the way and that we're setting them up for success from day one."

The Devils will now take the lead in delivering this crucial $25 million project, which includes community infrastructure at the Kingborough sporting precinct.

The new Tasmania Devils' High-Performance Training and Administration Centre is expected to be completed by late-2027 ahead of the Devils' entry into the AFL in 2028.
