We have released a series of training and resources to help:
- older people, their families and carers to understand what's changing
- providers to set up new systems and processes
- workers to understand their new responsibilities.
Module 2: Aligning to changes covers:
- understanding the new Act
- leading change
- governance and accountability
- putting the Statement of Rights and Statement of Principles into practice
- supporting the needs of older people
- tools, systems and day-to-day practices
- complaints and whistleblower protections for workers
- Quality Standards in practice.
Older people, their families and carers can complete Module 2:
- online via our website
- online via the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) learning management system
- by downloading the training as a document.
Providers and workers can access the training on Alis, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission's online education platform.
It is free and only takes 30 minutes.
It builds on Module 1: Understanding and adapting to the Aged Care Act 2024 which we released in June.
