Mildura Arts Centre (MAC) has three new interesting and vibrant exhibitions opening this month as it continues to celebrate reopening its doors following the recent easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
MAC reopened to the public on Tuesday 2 June, subject to strict safe distancing measures, and has since enjoyed the welcome return of people passing through the gallery, café bar and Historic Rio Vista House.
Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said it was exciting to see the vibrant MAC precinct return to life with three exciting new exhibitions opening in coming weeks.
Blurry Borders
Kristan Emerson
Blurry Borders features images from Pakistan, Myanmar, India, Indonesia and Bangladesh. The photographs were taken as a way for Kristan to see and experience the world using digital technology.
The images are impressive considering Kristan only has three per cent vision in just one eye.

Dreams of Another Life

Dreams of Another Life contemplates the passage of migration – the act of leaving one place to make a new life elsewhere. The archival and documentary source material has been manipulated and reworked using collage, text and colour.
Dates: Thursday 16 July – Sunday 13 September.
While celebrating the return of public exhibitions, MAC will continue its innovative program of digital content, initially sparked by the more severe COVID-19 restrictions earlier this year.
Those restrictions forced MAC to think more digitally in a bid to stay connected to the local community, as well as support both local artists and artists from outside the area.
It led to a popular program of events and initiatives, such as Backstage Pass and Social Drawing at Home, which have been streamed via Facebook and YouTube, triggering a strong and positive response from both locals and audiences outside the strict.
These program will continue on the following dates:
