Narrandera Shire Council wishes to advise the community that installation of a new fence will commence on Wednesday, 19 November 2025 at Barellan Park, Yapunyah Street, Barellan.
The project includes construction of a new fence with a continuous concrete footing extending from the CWA Building to the Barellan Park public toilet. This upgrade will improve safety, accessibility, and long-term park management.
Park Access During Construction
Barellan Park will remain open throughout the works. However, park users are asked to follow all onside signage and exercise around the work area.
Access to the BBQ area and seating will remain available, but visitors should take extra care near the construction zone. There will be two contractors onsite during the works.
Pedestrian access will be available only from the CWA Hall end and the toilet end of the park.
The front kerb along Yapunyah Street will be closed to pedestrian access for the duration of the works.
We appreciate the community's cooperation and patience while these improvements are completed. The expected completion date for the works is Friday, 28 November 2025. The new fence will support safer and more functional use of Barellan Park for all residents and visitors.
