Grant funding opportunities for not-for-profit organisations, sporting groups, and community groups are more accessible than ever before through Western Downs Regional Council's website.
Council has implemented the new Smarty Search tool, which is a time-saving grant-finder to help community groups and not-for-profit organisations find the right funding to bring their next idea, event, or initiative to life.
This user-friendly platform allows the community to search for funding opportunities from Council, State and Federal Government departments, as well as the private sector and it's all in one place.
Western Downs Regional Mayor Andrew Smith said this new initiative highlighted Council's commitment to empowering local organisations to host exciting new events and supporting grassroots initiatives.
"We know our communities are full of great ideas, and Smarty Search is about making sure those ideas have every chance to succeed," Mayor Andrew Smith said.
"This tool makes it easier for people to stay informed, act, and access the funding they need to make a real impact.
"If you're planning a community event, Smarty Search can help you find funding to bring people together and celebrate what makes our region special."
Mayor Smith said Council's diverse range of funding initiatives have supported local athletes, creatives, non-for-profit events, as well as fund infrastructure upgrades for community groups.
"The Individual Excellence Program has funded many of our elite athletes achieve their dreams, the Regional Arts Development Fund has taken local stories to the big stage, and the Community Projects Program has funded playground safety at childcares," he said.
Alongside Council's own funding programs, Smarty Search has a wide range of grants from State and Federal government departments, as well as private sector organisations.
Launched in 2017, Smarty Search has been a resource utilised by many local governments to help the community search for grants.
