EVANSVILLE, Ind., April 16, 2026 - Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, announced the launch of the next generation of its Apex™ family of premium packaging. The jars now include Elevate™ technology, which increases their ability to handle hot-fill process on the production line.
The Apex line of clear, lightweight polyethylene terephthalate (PET) jars with metal lug closures offers pasta sauce brands a simpler, more consistent experience than traditional glass jars that can offer lower overall costs when factoring in freight, manufacturing downtime and breakage.1 The greater stability of Elevate technology enables food manufacturers to fill Apex jars at up to 205 degrees Fahrenheit and offers stronger resistance to deformation as temperatures on production lines fluctuate.
Additionally, Apex costs less to ship than glass jars. With about seven unfilled Apex jars equal in weight to one unfilled glass jar, manufacturers could ship up to 36% more product per truckload.2 Apex is compatible with most manufacturers' existing lines and equipment, further reducing the cost to switch.
Amcor's Apex jars are also customizable, allowing both consumer packaged goods brands and private-label manufacturers to create a signature look.
"At Amcor, we are elevating what our customers and consumers can expect from a PET jar. From greater consistency under changing conditions on production line to the unmistakable pop when a consumer opens the jar, Apex with Elevate offers certainty," said Dan Rardin, director of product line management for Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions North America. "Add in lower total cost of ownership and the switch just makes sense."
