New joint venture to deliver Australian investors diversified international real estate

IPFM CEO, Mr. Tony McCormack said the 50/50 incorporated joint venture, to be formally launched in the third quarter of 2018, will initially provide Australian institutional investors with competitive risk-adjusted returns, driven by the ‘investor-first’ culture of its foundation partners.

"IPFM will provide institutional investors with a unique pathway into offshore real estate, premised on best-of-breed transaction execution and asset management, as well as a highly competitive fee model to ensure maximum benefits are passed back to investors," Mr. McCormack said.

"IFM Investors and ISPT, each distinguished by an investor-owned structure and long-term investment approach, bring natural benefits to IPFM including an ability to leverage IFM Investors’ established global reach and ISPT’s property investment and asset management expertise," he said.

IFM Investors is a uniquely structured global investment manager with over $105 billion[1] in assets under management across listed equities, infrastructure, debt investments and private equity. ISPT is one of Australia’s pre-eminent and best performing institutional real estate fund managers, with over $15 billion of real estate funds under management.

IPFM will initially target diversified property investments with a focus on core, income-producing assets. IPFM will directly pursue both on-market and off-market opportunities, tapping into a large network of local market relationships across a focused short-list of target markets.

IPFM has recruited a highly experienced and skilled team of real estate investment professionals to spearhead the firm’s entry into international real estate, led by Tony McCormack as Chief Executive Officer, Tim Stringer as Chief Investment Officer, and Tony Singh and Marc Fegredo as Investment Managers.

The team is currently establishing its first investment strategy, intended to be a diversified pooled fund that will initially focus on core properties in Pan-European gateway cities.

The IPFM investment team aims to build out teams in specific investment markets over time. Embedded in IPFM’s disciplined top-down, bottom-up investment approach is its proprietary Market Intelligence System (MIS). MIS, a ‘big data’ tool, applies data science to analyse socio-political, macroeconomic, spatial and property data to help assess investment sectors and locations.
