- Cook Labor Government releases 10 more residential lots in Karratha
- A further seven additional lots have been allocated for social housing
- Land release part of the Cook Labor Government's ongoing focus on ensuring every Western Australian has a home
The Cook Labor Government has released 10 more residential lots ranging from 639sqm to 898sqm in size at Madigan Estate in Karratha.
In addition to these, a further seven lots have been allocated to social housing.
Recently, the Cook Labor Government sold 33 residential lots in Madigan Estate in Karratha to Perdaman to accommodate its permanent workforce and support the growth of the $6.5 billion Karratha Urea Project.
The land release will directly support local employment, stimulate the regional economy, and increase the number of permanent residents, thus reducing reliance on fly-in-fly-out workers.
The lots will be sold through Ray White Karratha under an 'offers invited' process which will remain open until 6 May 2026. Interested purchasers are encouraged to also visit developmentwa.com.au for more information.
Additional lots in Madigan Estate are expected to be released to the public later this year.
The Cook Labor Government, through DevelopmentWA has settled 129 lots across Baynton West and Madigan over the last four years as part of a focus on ensuring every Western Australian has a home.
As stated by Planning and Lands Minister John Carey:
"The delivery of more lots to support the housing needs of the Karratha community, as well as industry, demonstrates our government's focus on boosting housing supply in regional Western Australia.
"This land release will help expand accommodation for essential workers and contribute to Karratha's ongoing development, ultimately creating more opportunities for people who live and work here.
"We are also allocating more lots to social housing, ensuring vulnerable members of the community have a place to call home."
As stated by Pilbara MLA Kevin Michel:
"The Cook Labor Government is making more land available for families and first home buyers in Karratha.
This builds on the land releases already delivered in the Madigan Estate, with more housing opportunities in the pipeline."
